The Cardinal Bernardin Cancer Center

The Cancer Center’s physicians, faculty, and staff are committed to healing and preventing cancer in the people of Chicago and the Midwest through the discovery, development, and application of innovative research, education, and patient care programs.

The Cardinal Bernardin Cancer Center

The Cardinal Bernardin Cancer Center at Loyola University of Chicago, along with our healthcare partner Loyola Medicine — a member of the Trinity Health network — is a leading institution dedicated to comprehensive cancer care, innovative research, and transformative education.  For nearly 30 years, the Cardinal Bernardin Cancer Center has served Chicago and the surrounding region as a nationally recognized hub devoted to alleviating the cancer burden by improving health outcomes and reducing cancer disparities and mortality.  By integrating research, education, and patient care, we strive to advance understanding of this complex disease.

Research is at the core of what we do, through our state-of-the-art laboratories, use of superior technologies, and offering of experimental therapies through clinical trials.  Located on Loyola University’s Health Sciences campus in Maywood, Illinois, the Cancer Center’s faculty are also steadfast in training the next generation of cancer specialists, providing opportunities for medical and graduate students, residents, fellows, and allied health professionals to ensure the continuous development of a skilled professional workforce in the field of oncology.

Let there be unity in what is necessary, freedom in what is doubtful, and charity in everything. Cardinal Bernardin
