How to Apply for Cycle 2027
1. Confirm Eligibility Before Applying
Before beginning the application, applicants must ensure they meet baseline eligibility requirements:
- Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or have approved DACA status at the time of application
- Must hold (or expect to complete before matriculation) a bachelor's degree
- Must have taken the MCAT no later than November 2026
- Prerequisite coursework must be completed no later than July 2027
2. Prepare Required Materials
Applicants should prepare the following before submitting AMCAS:
- Academic transcripts from all colleges/universities attended
- MCAT scores (most recent exam no later than November 1, 2026)
- Personal statement and Work/Activities entries
- Letters of recommendation (see Step 5 for requirements)
3. Submit the Primary Application via AMCAS
All applicants must apply through the American Medical College Application Service® (AMCAS®) primary application.
- Primary application service: AMCAS
- Earliest submission date: May 28, 2026
- Primary application deadline: November 2, 2026
- Application review begins: Mid-July 2026
4. Complete and Submit the Secondary Application
Stritch requires a secondary application. The secondary application is automatically sent to all verified applicants after AMCAS submission. If you are eligible for a fee waiver, contact ssom-admissions@luc.edu to make a formal request
After receiving an invitation, applicants must complete the Stritch secondary application.
- Secondary application fee: $115
- Fee waivers: Available
- Secondary application deadline: December 11, 2026, at 11:59:59 p.m. (CST)
5. Submit Letters of Recommendation via AMCAS
All letters of recommendation must be submitted through the AMCAS Letters Service.
- Minimum letters required: Three
- Maximum letters accepted: Six
- Preferred: Committee letter (or composite letter)
- Strongly recommended:
- At least two science faculty letters
- At least one letter from a physician (M.D.)
6. Monitor Application Status and Respond Promptly
Applicants should regularly monitor:
- AMCAS status updates
- Secondary application completion
- Interview invitations (if offered)
Applicants may submit:
- Letters of interest
- Letters of intent (after interview)
- Personal, professional, and/or academic updates
7. Interview (If invited)
Qualified applicants may be invited to interview. Interview format and timing are communicated directly to selected applicants through AMP.
8. Receive Admissions Decision
Admissions decisions are communicated on a rolling basis following interviews. Accepted applicants must follow the AAMC traffic rules.
9. Commit to Enroll
For accepted applicants in the MD program, the Commit to Enroll (CTE) deadline is May 15, 2027.
10. Complete Matriculation Requirements
After committing, accepted students must complete:
- All requirements in AMP's pre-matriculation tab
- Criminal background check
- Final transcripts
- Any additional onboarding requirements communicated by Student Affairs
11. Attend Orientation and Begin Medical School
- Orientation: July 26, 2027
- First day of classes: August 2, 2027
