University Core
The Core consists of 48 credits, with 15 of them devoted to mission-related knowledge. It is satisfied by the Associate of Arts (AA) or Sciences (AS) or Illinois Articulation Initiative General Education Core Curriculum (IAI GECC).
A maximum of 64 credit hours can be transferred from a community college. Other associate’s degrees, including in Applied Sciences (AAS) and Associate of General Studies (AGS), may fulfill some core requirements.

Fulfilling the Core Requirements
Transfer students without associate’s degrees can satisfy the University Core in two ways. Most will be guided by Loyola’s Core Curriculum, although students entering with a high number of credit hours may follow Illinois’ general education standard and take additional mission-related courses.

The university will evaluate your official transcript and send you a transfer credit report within two weeks of your acceptance.
