MLK Day of Service 2026

Join the Division of Student Development, in partnership with the Center for Student Inclusion and Belonging, the Office of Institutional Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and HSC Ministry, in honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy through service.

Misericordia

Monday, January 19 | 9:00 a.m. - 11:15 a.m.

Misericordia is a community of care for individuals with developmental disabilities, providing comprehensive residential, vocational, and recreational programs. Volunteers will support residents through activities including the bakery program, art studios, gardens program, and developmental training.

Street Medicine Program

Tuesday, January 20 | 11:45 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Loyola's Street Medicine Program brings healthcare directly to individuals experiencing homelessness, addressing one of the most profound health disparities in our community. Volunteers will assemble hygiene kits containing essential items for distribution through the program's outreach efforts.

Labre Homeless Outreach

Thursday, January 22 | 4:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Labre is an opportunity to form relationships with our neighbors experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity in downtown Chicago, offering a meal and conversation. Volunteers will prepare meals and build community before distributing the food and visit with those they encounter.

Chicago Lights

Tuesday, January 27 | 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Chicago Lights works to break the cycle of poverty through education, life skills development, and access to resources. Volunteers will support their Clothing Shop, which provides dignified shopping experiences for neighbors facing food insecurity and financial hardship.
