General Urology
General urology covers a wide spectrum of urologic diseases in men and women of all age groups. Reasons a person may come to see a general urologist include:
- difficulty, frequent or painful urination
- enlargement of the prostate
- blood in the urine
- urinary tract infections
- pain or swelling in the scrotum or testicles
- evaluation for prostate cancer
- kidney stones
- urinary incontinence
- sexual difficulties
Although some of these conditions are also treated by urologists that are sub-specialists, many patients are initially evaluated or treated by a general urologist.
