Primary Focus: Retina, Macular Degeneration, and Surgical Outcomes
Dr. Sigford’s research encompasses retinal diseases and surgical innovations, with a particular interest in age-related macular degeneration, retinal vascular disorders, and the optimization of vitreoretinal surgical techniques. He has contributed to studies on endophthalmitis risk in intravitreal anti-VEGF injections, OCT-based imaging biomarkers, and retinal photoreceptor pathology. Dr. Sigford also engages in developing educational resources and surgical training approaches for ophthalmology residents and fellows.
