How to Apply for Aid

Incoming Students

Priority Consideration Date: March 8, 2026

1. File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) (If eligible)

• FAFSA opens October 1

2. Complete the Parent Data Form in LOCUS

• This is Loyola’s internal application for institutional need‐based scholarship consideration
• Required for need-based financial aid consideration
• This form will be available in early 2026
• Students admitted on or after March 8 should submit this document as soon as possible after admission

3. 2024 Parent Federal Tax Returns

• Parent tax data is required for all students who are:
  • If you are married and your spouse is working full-time
  • If you are a veteran of the U.S. Armed Services
• Under the age of 30 as of August 1, 2026
• Exceptions to parent requirement:
• All other exceptions are made on a case-by-case basis by the Director of Financial Aid and are extremely rare.
• Upload documents through LOCUS

The Parent Data Form is used to assist in determining eligibility for institutional scholarships. If you do not wish to be considered for institutional scholarships but do wish to apply only for federal student loans, then you only need to complete the FAFSA. In this case, please contact the Financial Aid Office to request that the Parent Data Form and tax returns be removed from your task list in LOCUS.

Returning Students
