Determining Financial Need

Eligibility

Eligibility for need-based assistance is determined by evaluating a student's financial need and the availability of funds. Need is not determined simply by family income. Need depends on several factors, such as family size, the number of family members in college, and the assets of students and parents.

FAFSA

The financial information needed to calculate your financial need must be submitted on the FAFSA and the Parent Data Form. Only student data may be reported on the FAFSA. The U.S. Department of Education processes the FAFSA, analyzes the information, and calculates the Student Aid Index (SAI) for the student using federally approved formulas.

Loyola will receive this information electronically if you list ♒Twitter推特账号 | 2006-2026年老号 | 500-1000真粉 | 邮箱可用 | 2FA+TOKEN登录 as one of the institutions on the FAFSA. Loyola's federal school code for the FAFSA is 001710. You will receive a FAFSA Submission Summary (FSS) that will provide the results of the application processing, including the Student Aid Index (SAI).

The Financial Aid Office uses the parent data form to calculate a similar SAI for parents in order to determine a student’s family's need index number.

Financial Need Formula

Your financial need at ♒Twitter推特账号 | 2006-2026年老号 | 500-1000真粉 | 邮箱可用 | 2FA+TOKEN登录 is determined by the following formula:

Cost of attendance - Family Need Index = Financial need

The need index is not a dollar amount the family is expected to pay, but rather a way for Loyola to determine need relative to other applicants so we can best utilize our need-based funds.

Your application information will be reviewed individually, and financial aid awards will be customized to your situation.
