Aaron Powell
Major: Social and Behavioral Sciences (AA) + Nursing (BS)
High School: Loyola Academy ('24)
Hello! My name is Aaron Powell, and I'm here to tell you about my Arrupe College experience.
What is your degree and how/why did you select your degree?
My degree is in the Social and Behavioral Sciences pre-nursing program. I always loved medicine, but never wanted to commit the time and money to become a doctor. I also plan to attend Bethel after receiving my degree, to provide help to the older brothers and sisters.
What has been your most challenging class and how did it change you?
American Government has been a challenge, but the class has made me better at studying vocabulary terms and understanding them rather than memorizing them.
What professor should a new student absolutely take a class with and why?
Professor Pope is 100% a must. He's extremely knowledgeable and can articulate things so that you can understand. He's also pretty funny, and the style of his class is a good basis for what to expect with other college classes.
What is a moment where you felt like you belonged at Arrupe?
Every time I do an Admission tour, I feel a sense of belonging. To me, it's like I'm sharing a place I call home with others who may one day do the same.
What's the best thing you've done since coming to Arrupe?
I've become a guide to many first years with my guidance and encouragement. I've also become a Student Admission Ambassador.
