Keith M. Champagne, PhD, brings over 25 years of expertise and experience in student affairs, student success, enrollment management, diversity, public relations, and intercollegiate athletics. Dr. Champagne's leadership is guided by Loyola's mission, rooted in Ignatian values and Jesuit ideals, and his background in facilitating students’ sense of belonging, development, and community-engaged learning. His efforts to implement dynamic and inclusive programming tailored for a Jesuit, Catholic university include rebooting the “Engage Loyola” initiative, creating the Student Response Team, bringing the Rambler Brotherhood Project initiative to Loyola, launching the university-wide Leadership Institute, and the reorganization and repositioning of the Center for Student Engagement and the Center for Student Inclusion and Belonging.
Dr. Champagne earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications & Public Relations from Loyola University New Orleans, a Master of Science degree in Communications and Media Management from Clarion University of Pennsylvania, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Washington.
His most recent position prior to Loyola was as the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, Enrollment Management, and Athletics at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks. Before his time in Alaska, Dr. Champagne held several roles at Central Washington University including Associate Vice President for Student Success, Associate Vice President for Student Affairs, Assistant Vice President for Leadership and Diversity, Director of Athletics, and Chief Diversity Officer.
In April of 2021, Dr. Champagne received the Dr. Bobby Cummings Lifetime Achievement Diversity and Inclusion Award from Central Washington University for his work promoting and advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion on campus.
