Djuana O’Connor Oshin has 24 years of experience in litigating contested divorce and parentage proceedings involving allocation (custody), parenting time (visitation), inter-jurisdictional custody disputes, orders of protection, property division, child support and maintenance. Prior to starting her solo practice, Djuana represented clients at three Chicago area legal aid agencies, and later, in private practice at a boutique family law firm.

Prior to representing clients in family law proceedings, Djuana was a supervisory attorney at the Cook County Public Guardian’s Office representing abused and neglected children as a guardian ad litem for eight and a half years.

Djuana obtained a 40-hour mediation skills training certificate at Northwestern University and a 40-hour certificate in divorce and family law mediation through the Illinois State Bar Association.

She has an advanced-level proficiency in written and spoken Spanish.
