Alev Erhan
Adjunct Professor, Rule of Law for Development Program
Alev Erhan is an attorney focused on transnational human rights litigation and corporate accountability. She began her legal career at the European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights (ECCHR) in Berlin, where she helped develop the organization’s work on shrinking civic space and the rise of authoritarian practices. At ECCHR, she also supported litigation challenging double standards in international law in contexts of conflict and occupation. In 2024, Alev joined Corporate Accountability Lab as a staff attorney, where she works to develop and advance innovative legal strategies aimed at holding corporations accountable for exploitation within global supply chains.
During law school, Alev worked with the Campaign to Stop Killer Robots, advocating for the prohibition of fully autonomous weapons systems. She also engaged in strategic litigation at the intersections of national security, immigration, and criminal law. Across her career, Alev has contributed to human rights investigations, advocacy, and litigation through work with organizations including Human Rights Watch, the Atlantic Council, Crisis Group, TRIAL International, the Center for Justice and Accountability, and the ACLU.
Alev earned a B.A. in International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania, an M.Sc. in Conflict Studies from the London School of Economics, and a J.D. from Harvard Law School. She is admitted to practice in New York and is a proud member of the National Lawyers Guild.
