This Women's History Month (March 2026), Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice and Criminology, Dr. Zhandarka Kurti, was nominated and selected for Loyola's recognition of extraordinary women on campus. This initiative from Loyola University's Office of Institutional DEI worked to honor the achievements and contributions of women who have made a lasting impact at the University.

In Dr. Kurti's recognition, Loyola's Office of Institutional DEI wrote, "Dr. Kurti uplifts women through intentional mentorship and action. In her 'Women in the Criminal Justice System' class, she challenges students to engage deeply with the realities women face, shaping perspectives on justice and inspiring paths like research on gender-based violence. Beyond the classroom, she empowers students by recognizing their strengths, encouraging them to pursue opportunities, and reinforcing that they belongbuilding confidence, purpose, and belief in the value of women's voices."

Please join us in congratulating Dr. Kurti for this great achievement!
