The University was recently informed of his passing late last month. Shohrukh was originally from Dushanbe, Tajikistan and has been laid to rest there.  

Omer Mozaffar, Muslim Chaplain and lecturer in the College of Arts and Sciences, said, “Shohrukh’s classmates will remember him as a funny, loyal friend. It is easy to smile while remembering him.”
